EVOFEED will debut its new facilities in Berbegal (Huesca), in which they will have the most modern technology in terms of control of their pet food production processus, thanks to the new M.E.S. (Manufacture Execution System) platform of VOLTEC: VMES4.0
The implementation of VMES4.0 in this new plant will allow EVOFEED to obtain a quality production, more precise and profitable. A system with which the plant will optimize its production, thanks to the reduction of energy costs, a better adaptation to demand and even the creation of short production series.
This new plant will become EVOFEED’s main production centre, thanks to its production capacity and its technological equipment, for which it has placed its trust in VOLTEC. The installation will have an installed power of 1.7MW and a cogeneration system.
For this project we have chosen a turnkey solution for the automation of the plant. In this case, including:
- Server and computer architecture through a virtualized system under Windows Server 2016 and Microsoft SQL Server. The structure is complemented by a series of think clients and industrial terminals connected to the server using Terminal Server technology to manage the Factory.
- Communication networks for both the plant information system and the industrial part.
- Control cabinets and factory power, including Ethernet network communication architecture for the integration of electronic equipment into a network for control, configuration and data collection.
- Control system using VMES4.0 software. This new system will fully regulate all production activity and will be linked to the ERP system responsible for the company’s management and administration process in order to integrate both systems.
EVOFEED, a company specialized in animal feed, will start its production with a volume of 3,500 tons per month, although it expects to reach a maximum monthly yield of 14,000 tons. One of the main factors to get this productive capacity is to have a platform like VMES4.0, powerful, versatile and aligned with the most demanding requirements of the Industry 4.0.
In addition, this strengthening of their production capacity will mean that they will be able to increase the percentage of their production destined for the export market.
